The U34CHs were impressive machines- nice shot!

I rode the Montclair branch to/from Glen Ridge/Hoboken from 1972 to 1980. We'd occasionally get a U34 CH set on the line. I think they kept the RPM's at 800 while unloading and loading passengers because of the HEP requirements. That was one loud noise if you had to walk close to the engine on the platform.
