They sure look proper and impressive along side each other. Shame no articulated locomotives from the B&O were preserved.

Yes, it would be great to have a B&O EM-1 in Baltimore, or even an EL-3a. It's sad to think about all the notable steam locomotive types that were completely scrapped.

Nice photo. I like the profile comparison view of the two different articulated locomotives - there's a lot of nice looking power sitting there! What was running on the miniature tracks circling the locomotives in the lower left of the photo?

Thanks Jeff. This was a weekday afternoon, and I don't think they were running anything on the miniature railroad. There may have been only two or three other visitors wandering around, as I recall.

It's funny, I never lived in steam days, yet I know a lot about steam locomotives all across the country. I've even been fortunate enough to see a couple articulateds running (and hopefully a big boy soon!). I've been around a lot of steam locomotives and certainly trains in general. It's funny how your grandparents, probably born in the neighborhood of 1910, never saw an articulated. Often with railroads we can think it would have been nice to see a different era, but we are also very fortunate to see and experience what we have today. Thank you for sharing this awesome picture.
