Hm, you know,there is a famous quote from I forget which star covers that thing; something to the effect of, "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've added some special modifications myself." Wonder if H&B made any special modifications.

I doubt Norris Lafitte made any modifications. They would have cost money. When asked why he didn’t paint the units he told a friend of mine they ran just as well without it. People even volunteered to paint them and he nixed that, probably due to liability concerns. Nice guy though, the family had been in the business for many years, starting in logging. He showed me around and was very hospitable.
