Here we go again, someone letting the magic smoke out of the electrical stuff: when will people learn they need to stop doing that because it don't work right any more when you do that.

I thought AC traction motors were not supposed to have that problem.

The traction motor blower failed. The traction motor cuts itself out and you lose the truck. Half the locomotive is now useless. I know, it happened to me a couple of times.
