So if I understand correctly (from one of your earlier posts), all commuters from the outlying area will have to change from heavy rail to light rail at an intermediate station instead of having one seat directly into the city. I fail to see how this is a good idea. What is the thought process?

Only the Mascouche-line commuters will have to transfer from heavy to light rail, but yes, this whole REM project looks absolutely disastrous.

There is talk about equipping other trains with technology to be able to share the tracks into Central Station, and I'm sure it exists and is used elsewhere, but I can imagine they'll find a reason not to use it here.
