Location of that brick building probably appeared rather less odd at the time of its construction. Google maps and street views show a distance in front of it a small, rectangular, concrete pad which here is obscured by the covered hoppers. Concrete pad is of such a proportion that it is easy to imagine things like it held a pair of early gas pumps and the road was originally on opposite of tracks at that point in history. Am looking at Depot Street just to north of this point, and in background of photo, trying to determine where a depot might have been - it would have had to be about 5 feet wide to fit between street and track as they are aligned at this point in history.
