Found location on Google Street View and the distance compression effect that telephoto lenses can have sure makes the location look different from how it would to the eye standing there; a view which stretches a couple blocks looks maybe 50 yards long in the photo. Before I cheat in Google, and a couple books, town name Pekin brings to mind an old shortline named Peoria and Pekin Union which had a distinctive early centercab diesel. I don't know whether that shortline name is still in use, would have to go look it up. And I'm going to submit this before looking!

Nice shot! The telephoto compression really makes this shot. Be careful, you never know who might be lurking by the tracks when a cowl units is on the point.
