Awesome photo, Mike - brings back a lot of memories seeing strings of these old open autoracks rolling by when I was trackside as a kid. I remember these carriers, and the problems associated with them - as in the vandalism caused by rock-throwing teens, and gun-happy hunters in the rural areas as these carriers went through. Many auto dealers lost a lot of inventory due to rocks and other items breaking windows and windshields on these vehicles. That's when the enclosed auto carriers started to appear and take their place in the railroading world. Still nice to see these "old" classic carriers again, though.
