Is this container service new? It's been a couple of years since I stopped by the Twin Ports, but I don't recall this particular operation

It is fairly new Greg, developed in early 2018. It involves rail to truck transfer versus ships. CN moves the containers here from Montreal and CP switches them into the port. Duluth Cargo Connect is the moniker for the service, of which CN plays a big role.

Interesting, thanks for the added background on this operation Dave. CN has certainly built a unique container business model in the region. In addition to Duluth they have small operations in Arcadia and Chippewa Falls, WI as well as the soon to open New Richmond, WI location. They seem to be the only big railroad willing to go after this smaller market container business right now.

I think I've had similar derailments on my model railroads, but that was me reaching across the table and bumping something.
