You would think that with all the "excess power" available that they would go ahead and max out the horsepower needed to avoid all of this. amazing how the bean counters still control the operational side of things

With a 6th locomotive a swing helper would have to be cut in. For some reason the BNSF does not like to cut in DPUs on westbound trains. UP runs trains this size 3x3, with swings cut in 2/3 back.
