Great picture! Here’s a fun fact: The mountain behind the village of Vitznau contained a large artillery bunker, right where you can see a little Swiss flag on the rock formation in the center right of the photo. The bunker was built in the Second World War (1941-43) together with hundreds of other fortifications to deny German troops access to the inner Alps should they invade Switzerland from the North (which Germany never did). The bunker was modernized in the Cold War and used into the 1990s. It is now a museum. You can find out more by searching the web for "Festung Vitznau". Most pages that come up are in German but there are also a few in English. And there are many impressive picture of this bunker system on the web.
