That crossing was closed in the late 90's and a highway bridge over the tracks constructed.

Cool photo Chris. Great location to. Makes me want to have a large bowl of good ole hot homemade chicken noodle soup with garlic and xtra apple cider vinegar and peppa of course for those cold days on Railpictures. Fine glance of the " Three step gondola express hotshot' barreling thru Roanoke on a cold n grey Roanoke day another train is leaving town.....as the snow lies .... in O Virginia. Reminds me of the jeep my local shortline used to have. except it was in a southern paint scheme. now it is at the Tennessee valley railroad museum.
