I remember this scene like it's yesterday. In fact, I had the privilege just a few weeks later to ride this train into Tacoma and back to the base at Western Junction. I know it wasn't this day because when we rode the train it was raining. That was really disappointing because I wanted to get alot of video footage. (This was the day of bulky VHS cameras so you didn't want that to get wet.) Little did I know that when June 1992 came, Weyerhaeuser notified the railroad there would be no more log trains into Tacoma until further notice. Well, further notice never came save for a couple of trains over those remaining 3 years the operation was mothballed until the whole thing was sold to City of Tacoma in 1995.
