Looking at the map, I'm with you on being confused, assuming that's the right train symbol. If they chose to have that train depart the yard from the east end, then it would seem the place to get it turned around would have been right at the diamond it's crossing in your photo. As far as I can see, the next opportunity to get the train turned west won't happen until it's in Indiana!
