I like the asymetric doors. Any particular reason for this ?

Andrew, the blueprint shows the two different size doors being off center just like in the photo. It indicates that when open, the clear space is 10 ft wide. Maybe by being off center it was easier to get automobiles in and out.

I believe the asymmetric doors were somewhat typical of boxcars used to carry automobiles. I have a couple of models of more modern all steel automobile carrying boxcars that would date to the 1950's and they, too, have one large door and one small. My guess is they were designed to allow just enough room to slip the automobiles inside. The newer auto boxcars also had two levels in them. Not sure about this one.
