I was under the impression these weren't qualified to lead in Canada. Whenever I see BNSF engines in Alberta, they're trailing. I think the only US engine I've ever seen lead was NS.

They quite often lead in Southern Ontario, especially if no other power available. UP and KCS leaders have happened a few times as well.

That said... A few years ago, CN engines were uncommon on CP here (and a few years before that basically never), but when they did show up, they freely led trains, unlike all US power. In recent times, I've seen several CN engines per day, often two on one train, but they don't lead.
