The Tennessee side is better. Cheaper taxes and no vehicle inspections like Virginia. But all in all, both cities have excellent places to watch trains all day long and at night. The trains are a little slower in town but that only adds to a longer train viewing session and with the "precision railroading" mode being currently used, the trains are much, much longer with DPU's scattered about the full length of the train. Same thing where I live in Campbell County, TN along the CSX KD Subdivision directly behind my home an property. Just like to go to other places in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia to watch any railroad there is since I retired from trucking a few years ago.
