This is something a bit different. Usually the Hiawatha operates with a cab/baggage at one end, and a powered locomotive at the other end for push/pull operation.

I saw the trainset later in the night, and it had an SC-44 on the other (north) end as usual. What I can't explain is why it had the Cabbage and SC-44 on this end.
