Looks like one of those WM abominations, with an additional demerit for that bump out of the center cab windows. They just hack a section out of the short hood and drop the top of it down, original high short hood headlights, number boards and marker lights intact.

I agree with you as to WM's, ah, unique chop jobs. I didn't see too many where I lived at the time but one was enough--a 5600 series GP7, IIRC. Ugly. This engine also looks different than most, with the squarish air filter box and what looks like an Alco (TM) front windshield, from, say a Century unit!

Oh yeah, hadn't thought about that, but now that you mention it, that does kind of look like a Century Series ALCO center windshield. Guess they "kitbashed" it from whatever was handy!

I only ever saw one of the WM chop noses, and never got a good look at it. I was a kid at the time when I saw it in all places in Staten Island, NY. Until years later when I actually checked a WM roster I believed it to be a GP20, until I found out the WM didn't have any!
