Arguably the most historical significant diesel ever built and yet all we have left are two gutted hulks and whatever is in Mexico. It would be my guess that preservationists were still so enamored with steam that they ignored these when EMD offered their generous trade in deal in the early sixties. Still I would like to see the ole belts and pulleys running the cooling fans and hear that distinctive sound.
