The empty stone hoppers (note the "shadow" of prior loading) are likely headed to Hanson's Neverson Quarry near Sims / Bailey NC.
The Neverson Quarry has been a local resource since the late 1800’s. In 1910, Neverson W. Williams deeded 64.13 acres to the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. In 1918 the site was called the Neverson Granite Co., and in 1919 the Neverson Granite Quarry, Inc. In more recent times it was owned by Lehigh Hanson becoming Heidelberg Materials in 2023.
