Question for the poster: I see the word "ghats" in the locations on many of your photos. Can you tell me what is the english translation of "ghats"? Thank you.

"Ghats" actually refer to a mountain pass. a mountain range or escarpment. Now depending on the gradient the bankers (when trains climb up the ghats) or brakers (when trains roll down the ghats for better braking power) locomotives are used. In this case there is a mountain pass is relatively as short section between Shindawane and Ambale stations around 9 kms section referred as Shindawane Ghats part of Sahaydri mountain range.
