I live a couple of miles south from this old tower on CSX's KD Subdivision. My property is beside the CSX ROW and on occasion, I will take a walk up the tracks to the tower. Even though walking the tracks is considered trespassing, I been doing so for over 50 years but no one or CSX employee ever said anything. Track walking is a lot different than riding in a car. You get to see scenery, flora, and fauna that is not seen from the highways. And of course you get to see the trains going by. You know they are coming when you hear that deep growling sound of those diesel engines, the screech of steel wheels making contact with the rails, the train horns, and the braking sounds. And, since trains are a lot longer with DPU's scattered about, you get a longer viewing time of the train pulling those grades. What a show it is!!

Looks like Mother Nature is doing her best to reclaim this coaling tower and surrounding area. Nice photo.
