It seems to be only a matter of time before the former Chessie System B&O 6525 will be completely enveloped in weeds and brush as it rusts away in Athens, Georgia.

Originally built for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1957 and rolled over in to Chessie System after the merger in 1973, GP9 #6525 sits and rots away in Athens in present day.

The sun begins to set over the horizon, as this B&O rail veteran stays in place, as it will tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that. Every day, until it's fixed, or scrapped.

HRT 6525, a rail veteran for the B&O railroad, remains stationary beneath overgrown trees behind a pottery shop, in very rough shape.
