An eastbound runs beside East O'Fallon Drive as the former B&O and road climb the grade along Littler Canteen Creek to ascend out of the Mississippi River Valley.

The former B&O mainline to St. Louis, MO, now the Illinois Subdivision of the CSX Louisville Division, ends at milepost 327.9 severing rail service between Caseyville, IL and Flora, IL.

UP 4607 leads CSX K558 past the CPL's at West Black Lane, on the ex-B&O. This train of loaded pipes will become UP's "SMEEK" at Saint Louis.

Eastbound autos creep into Caseyville.

Rounding the bend, leaving Caseyville and the St. Louis area behind. We would end up chasing it all the way accross Illinois, and on to Washington, IN. More chase photos to come...
