After cresting the Summit at Cumbres, the C&TS #489 drops downgrade and heads into the first horseshoe at Tanglefoot Curve on the East side of the Pass.

The daily Eastbound C&TS Passenger train with double heading Steam engines has finished climbing the grade out of Chama and is just past Windy Point as it approaches the Summit of Cumbres Pass.
