On the morning of April 26, 1997, a westbound Union Pacific coal empty rolls through Flagg, Illinois, on the former Chicago & North Western main line.

West of Flagg, Illinois, on a cold February 13, 1994, is a westbound Chicago & North Western piggyback train led by C&NW EMD SD40-2 No. 6901, Soo Line EMD SD60 No. 6053 and C&NW EMD GP50 No. 5078.
