Amtrak no. 5, the westbound California Zephyr climbs up the Truckee River Canyon from Reno Nevada to the summit of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at Donner Pass.

An hour late out of Reno, Amtrak No. 5 the westbound California Zephyr, climbs uphill to the next stop in Truckee. From there the real work begins to gain the summit of the hill at Norden.
