UP 2617 leads an empty unit train though Garnet, NV as they start the climb to Apex Summit
At trio of UP SD40N's lead the Mead Lake Local (LUM55 17) near Garnet, NV. The local will be taking the siding at Apex for an intermodal (KG1LAC) that is not for behind.

This rerouted "Z" train, normally runs along the former Southern Pacific Sunset Route, but today it just crested Apex and will snake its way through Garnet on its journey east.
