Former CNW GP9 #4556 and Hartwell GP40-2 #3000 bring their train from Toccoa south through Lavonia, GA passing a former RF&P GP35 #136 which has been rusting to the rails for a few years.

Former RF&P GP35 136 rots beneath the summer sun in downtown Lavonia, Georgia. I'm riding shotgun on EJ&E SD38 654 on a northbound train for Toccoa.

Conrail 7874, now sporting the CSX number 1973, is part of the Hartwell Railroad locomotive roster, however, it slowly continues to rust under a gloomy sky.

In early Spring 2005, I caught the Hartwell Railroad in Lavonia, Georgia with an ex-Chicago & Northwestern hgh hood GP9 tied down at the old grain mill in town.
