Dow Chemical GE 80T No90 & C&O SW7 5231. The Dow unit was Orange & Black with a blue Dow diamond.

In the 1970s the C&O handled a lot of piggy-back traffic for Dow Chemical at Midland's Dean yard. Today the ramp sees only an occasional military load for the local National Gaurd.
With the formation of Conrail the GTW took over the PC line from Durand up to Bay City and over to Midland. To celebrate this event the GTW moved their bi-centenial unit into town.
Built in 1955 C&O GP9 5954 was still in it's original paint in 1977.
After the formation of the Chessie System many former C&O GP9s were transfered to the B&O and WM. Note the quick re-paint this unit got.
B&O GP40 3747 leads a west bound into Midland MI. This now a rail-trail.
