At last light, an intermodal train eases up to the east switch of Ramsey to wait for a westbound manifest to roll past on the last few miles until the crew change at Hauser.
Two locomotives easily handle the mile-long string of baretables. The crew on board tries to get a good luck at my friend and I standing in the deep snow taking pictures.
The sun was setting and the crew ready to end their almost 12 hour long shift as I snapped this shot on the way down from the locomotive after it received a green signal.
After waiting at a red signal, the switch finally lines for movement onto the main and this train heads west.
Looking down the tracks at a meet with an eastbound grain train. The sound of the cars going over the frog 5 feet to my right was deafening.
