A nice looking pair of Union Pacific SD40Ns pass the former C&NW depot in Sheldon as they shove a cut of hoppers toward the mill in the distance.
This is what the mid-section of DM&E, former CP, SD40-2 6075 looked like after a hard day of pushing a wedge plow across the Sheldon Sub.
High winds and drifting prompted the DM&E to operate a wedge plow on its Sheldon Sub to the end of the line at its namesake town of Sheldon. Two red former CP units provide propulsion.
The Southbound UP OLS special passes the former C&NW / MILW depot.
LSN comes into Sheldon lit engines to pickup the UP transfer before heading back to Spencer. This is as far west as the ICE runs in Iowa, 252 miles west of Marquette.
