Amid the urban sprawl that NC is becoming, and in a horrible traffic jam we found a nice field and a southbound freight, bound for Fayetteville in the late afternoon sun.

CFE 3316 closes in on Crescent City with a train for Gilman. Crescent City was victim to a 1970 derailment that saw a propane tank car blow up right in downtown.

The loaded Trona train finally makes it up the major grade as it swings through the Pinnacles and towards the UP interchange.
