For a short while, unfortunately, CN used the former Savage Alberta Railway's C39-8 fleet, however retired them shortly after this photo was taken. C767's power backs onto their train in Jasper.

Looking in good shape from the outside, but probably not so much on the inside, is SAR 7487, retired and await a decision outside of Walker Yard's LRC.

After doing what a C39-8 does best the night before, it was deemed that it should be sent back to Edmonton for a check up.

The cab of SAR 7484. Although this unit is painted in CSXT's "Bright Future" scheme, the future looks anything but bright for this old warrior.

7487 is one of the better looking C39-8s, but it's looks are only good on the outside. It's waiting for a buyer or a scrapper.

NREX 7488 brings SAR's southbound manifest into the CN interchange yard at Swan Landing. I do not know what the story is behind the spray painted "01" on the numberboards and side of the cab!

NREX 7480 will now trail back north on train 458 after they spend about 2 hours setting up lifts for CN, and making up their train for Winniandy and ultimately Grand Prairie.
