Just a nice clean steam generator-equipped commuter unit.
SP had its bad points but there's no denying they were scenic and interesting. These rebuilds were functional and unlike so many based on the same core, attractive.

Another iteration of Caltrans train #36 prepares to depart. Is it just me or are the number boards on the Geep larger than original?
Coming from N&W country I find nothing disgusting about a Geep on a passenger train. I would have liked to ride the El Monte. Here one of it's former units pulls and EB commuter train.
After sundown this EB commuter train brings weary passengers home.
