The railcar is preserved and in operation by association Chemins de Fer de la Haute Auvergne. X 2725 is crossing the viaduct of Barajol on the heritage railway line Riom-ès-Montagnes - Lugarde.
The SNCF closed the line from Ifs to Étretat for passenger service in 1951. Today tourist trains are operating on a part of the line by association “Train touristique Étretat-Pays de Caux”.
