Early February means cold in eastern Utah and 2011 was no exception. It was around 5 degrees below zero when I took this shot. This is the morning, loaded train headed for the Bonanza Power Plant.

Deseret Ry’s empty morning train is seen here dropping down this steep, but thankfully short, grade onto the floor of Coyote Basin at around MP 27 or so.

Deseret Ry's loaded coal train has just gone under Colorado Highway 64 and is headed towards Mormon Gap about 2 miles ahead. The Utah state line is just a couple of miles past Mormon Gap.

Deseret Ry's eastbound empty train has nearly reached the end of its trip at the Deserado Mine's loadout. Only one more mile to go then spot the train under the flood loader for loading tomorrow.
