This is the earliest example of an EMU built in the UK by the LNWR for suburban services around London. It strikes me as odd that nearly 100 years on Britain is still ordering new diesel units

The famous LNWR no.790 Hardwicke stayed for a while at the now-defunct Dinting Railway Centre. This is an old shot from 1979, where the loco is parked outside the original loco shed.
