Alaska Railroad's ballast train is lead through Denali National Park, by GP40-2, 3003. One of only three locomotives left on the railroad, still in the black and gold, paint scheme.

On the last day of my Fall 2010 visit to Alaska I captures these two original paint GP40-2s lugging a company work train north. A perfect ending to a great trip.
