The S317 (Extra Q317) backs three cars off into the yard at Rowlesburg. The cars were for Allegheny Hardwoods on the M&K Branch near Kingwood. Today the M&K is all gone.
707 Climbs across the CSX Viaduct heading west out to Beal Street and toward the old B&O West End, with yet another string of empy hoppers to be filled with coal from the hills.
707 is on the assault as it is starting its ascent up the steep grade passing through the old yard at Elkhorn City which is about a half a mile from here.
A pair of SD70MAC's lead an eastbound coal drag past the B&O's Summit of the Alleghanies. The train will soon be descending the legendary Seventeen Mile Grade.
