On my birthday CN decided to run L521 from Kirk Yard to Joliet with EJE 667 leading on home rails. Here they are arriving the former EJE East Joliet Yard.
It's a classic Elgin, Joliet & Eastern scene at the old J depot in Lake Zurich as SD38-2 #667 hustles a weed sprayer train north on a nice morning.
O926, an eastbound weed sprayer train, makes its way down the former EJ&E on a sunny morning. EJ&E 667, a home rail SD38-2 is in charge as the train makes way to Battle Creek, Michigan.
EJ&E SD38-2 667 leads CN L514 West through Griffith.

Looking right at home as its been many years since an EJE SD38-2 has lead a train down the Illinois River Line on a job that has been dominated by IC SD70's.

R967, also known as the Recycle Job, heads west through the city with an EJ&E SD38-2 leading the way. The train is about to pass under 18th Street.
An EMD SD38-2 takes some unusual cargo west on the EJ&E "Porter Line" branch in 1978.
A northbound Metra Electric races towards the city as "the recycle job" heads south through the Oakland neighborhood on the near south side.
On the longest day of the year it would be most appropriate to go out at night since the Millsdale local had a pair of EJ&E SD38's.
