In the last summer of Soo Line operations in Upper Michigan a Milwaukee SD leads a former Milwaukee SW now in fresh Soo Line Red/Off White/Black west on train 12 with 47 cars at Caffey.

Milw 130, Soo 1220 head 47 cars into a late evening sun. It wasn't common to see SW type units east of Gladstone during Soo's last years of Upper Peninsula operations.
