18M passes by the signals at Stepptown, entering the middle of the 3 single track sections between Portsmouth and Bluefield.

While a few of us were waiting for Southern 630 to arrive at 23rd Street, NS 202 slid past with a month-old ES44AC and a BNSF MAC trailing a dirty GEVO, Lookout Mountain towering in the distance.

A westbound stack train highballs through Ogden Dunes, meeting an eastbound mixed freight.

16N has a big train today and will need to add another unit to make it to Conway but they've departed Toledo with NS 7548 & UP 3955 dragging the train over the river and curving upgrade.

NS 233 blasts out of one of the twin Roderfield Tunnels.

I was hoping to catch both portals of the twin tunnels but 233 crossed mains between the tunnels on me. It was neat to see one train on both Pokey mains while in both tunnels.

A slow day in Bluefield.

All is still in a once bustling place for the Carrier of Fuel Satisfaction. Sadly the yard at Bluefield is now a former shell of itself with a lot of the coal traffic it depended on gone.
