Ohio Central 7220 running long hood forward leads an eastbound NRHS excursion at Bowerston

OHCR 7220 leads a NRHS convention excursion up the connection from the ex PRR to the ex NYC line to Apex

With heads sticking out at various places throughout the train, OHCR C420 7220 and F40PH 271 lean into a superelevated curve in Miller Station. The track at right leads to the Nelms No. 2 mine.

With a small plume of exhaust, Ohio Central C420 7220 hustles the NHRS excursion "The American" eastward past milepost 79 in the small town of Conotton.

The first excursion of the 2006 Convention passes through Panhandle on it's way to Gould's Tunnel.

The American ducks under the ex-PRR signal bridge at Jewett with OHCR 7220 in control.

Its down to one track underneath this ex-PRR signal bridge outside of Dennison.

The classic front of an Alco. Check out how low those trucks ride. It's amazing how even 'small' diesel power makes a house look tiny.

Now this is the type of shot you need to get when you drive out to Ohio. At Morgan Run the C420 and F40 will be swapped for some real power, a 4-6-2 or 'Pacific'.

With the excursion running west in the morning, the position of the sun was less than stellar. Mixed in with the haze of a summer morning made for some great "silhouette" shots.

The first excursion of the NRHS Convention is "The American" from Dennison to Goulds Tunnel and back which is lead by OHCR 7220. The consist is seen passing through the famed cut at Cadiz Jct.
