The fading red nose of Southern Pacific GE AC4400CW No. 266 on an eastbound coal train can’t compete with the bright autumn aspens at Tolland, Colorado, on September 16, 2004.

The Espee lives on in 2013. Only a handful of unpatched units remain on UP's roster and I doubt they will last much longer, this one returning to glory for a lead run on a high priority Z train.

Q625 had a not-so-common leader tonight as they prepare to make their pick-up in Rochester. The crew would end up outlawing here, and this train wouldn't move until 7:15 the following morning.

Eastbound through Pinecliffe as mountain thunderstorms rumble in the distance. This was a good climb to a point that had me a bit nervous due to height and that sudden drop over the ledge.
