A late-running El Segundo Local heads through the abandoned mall complex at Hawthorne on their way to their namesake city.

The El Segundo Local comes off the Wilmington Sub and makes a short trip on the Alameda Corridor on the way back to 4th Street. A loaded flat of aerospace parts is behind the power.

UP 4000 class from two different eras
Union Pacific EMD SD70M No. 4017 on the lead of a local freight parked at Evanston, Wyoming, is greeted by UP Big Boy No. 4014 on May 6, 2019.

A followup view to a shot posted earlier shows UP 4017's hogger leaning out the window looking for any obstructions to getting his train into the yard and finishing his run.

With brake shoes smoking a manifest with stock cars in the consist slows for the yard at Cheyenne. #4017 was preserved and sits today, silent but imposing, at the National Railway Museum in Green... (more)
