CNW 8646 and patched 9087 lead MPRCB over the Fox River. If only 9087 was still CNW 8575, but it is still better then some random UP being behind 8646.
A bad-order car stopped this train at Cortland, just east of DeKalb. The resulting delay meant this train passed through the coal tower in the afternoon.

The trio is running on advanced approaches as it crests another hill and slowly creeps through the town of Lowden.
The CNW trio screams westbound around the Wheatland splitting the recently placed Tri-color signals.
MPRCB cruises through the small town of De Witt passing an MoW staging area and local grain elevators.
The "new" CNW trio heads over the Mississippi River into Iowa before swapping crews and continuing west to Council Bluffs.
