Part of the old Glenita Rock Quarry can be seen over top of the lead engines of NS 796 and some track equipment that sits in the relatively short Glenita siding.
The sound of two big GE 6-motor engines (EMD is broke down) fill the air as they coming through the valley in Jasper on a Birmingham bound coal train.
The Pennsylvania Heritage unit is on the lead NS 796. The Birmingham bound coal train makes it's way through Irondale just passing the number 9 milepost of the Appalachia District.
NS 796 approaches the diamond at Dalton, GA as it crosses the CSX Western & Atlantic Subdivision. Nice to finally see this unit in Daylight!
