UP 844 charges Eastbound across the Clio Trestle and is a few miles from Portola.
On a very rainy day in the Feather River Canyon, UP 844 chugged and puffed through the damp conditions, creating a spectacular show from my vantage high above Rock Creek.
UP 844 heads up the Feather River Canyon through the rain and Honeymoon Tunnels. This would be my last shot of the chase until the east side of the town of Quincy.

UP 844 crosses both Highway 70 and the Feather River at Tobin, underneath a spectacular plume.
We get a good look at the end of the train here as the bridge over the Feather River is engulfed in steam.
Hundreds of railfans are parked on the turnouts of Highway 70 to witness UP 844 cross the beautiful Rock Creek Trestle, bound for Portola.
A waterfall gracefully flows down the hillside as UP 844 and her diesel helper exit Tunnel 26, and enters Tunnel 27 at the renowned "Honeymoon Tunnels".
